How to make money On Line.

Global Test Market is the best survey site on Internet among those I've come up with thus far.

I have worked with many other survey sites over the years but all I found that most of them are either scams or time-wasters or just cater to a selected group of countries. Most of the survey sites exploit the responder to the fullest and I'm not only talking about the scam survey sites.

There are many survey sites that doesn't pay cash. They make payments through gift cheques, gift vouchers or something similar to it. In this way they earn their commission from several sources, companies, stores or products at the expense of the members. One is forced to be content with the exorbitant waste of some useless junk filled store in exchange for months of honest work and long hours of concentration. Global Test Market on the other hand gives checks as rewards that can be used as per our wish and requirements.

Therefore I recommend Global Test Market to someone thinking of finding a trustworthy survey site on Internet and if that person is not from a selected group of countries that find favour with most survey sites then I think you should try out Global Test Market. I don't think they will disappoint you and you will get your payment in time as I've got.

Piktochart’s Latest Version Lets Users Make Search-Friendly Infographics

Love them or hate them, infographics are a potent marketing tool, especially on visually-oriented Web sites like Pinterest or Facebook. But using an image to present information often means losing out on SEO opportunities. Malaysia-based startup Piktochart seeks to bridge that gap with the launch today of its retooled Web-based app, which now allows users to create interactive, search-friendly infographics. New features enable hyperlinks to be inserted into each infographic, as well as multiple viewable tabs so users can add different layers of content. Infographics are created using Piktochart’s Web-based editor, which allows users to drag-and-drop text, images and icons. There are more than 100 themes available on the paid version of Piktochart that can be further customized by changing fonts, backgrounds and colors. Infographics and other presentation tools are hosted on the cloud and can be shared on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Pinterest directly from Piktochart. Since its launch in March 2012, over 5,000 small businesses and educational institutes have signed up for Piktochart Pro, says the company. The free version of the app has an additional 170,000 users. Piktochart received a $140,000 grant from the Malaysia government’s Cradle Fund in December. Prior to that, it was funded through Chinaccelerator.

Chasing the Right CMS: Joomla, Drupal or WordPress?

When choosing a CMS for your prospective website, it can be really tough to make a choice. It often boils down to the three most popular counterparts on the CMS market: Drupal, Joomla! and WordPress. They are so closely associated with each other that hearing one name you almost expect to hear the other two. What makes differentiating these CMSs so difficult is that they are all very similar, but only at the first sight. All of them are free and open source, which means you can get your copy for no cost and can modify it to your taste. But on the closer look, you realize these platforms are totally different. And this is the key point – if they’re different, they can’t be compared in general, like which one is better? It’s like comparing a pen, a pencil and a marker. These are writing tools, but are they the same? In case with the three CMSs in question, you can only define which one is better for your particular project or which one excels at doing a specific task.marketshareLooking at this research diagram from wp.smashingmagazine.com, the share of WordPress among the top 1 million websites is the greatest, the second prize goes to Joomla and Drupal is the third. What is the reason of the division like this? Let’s see! WordPress WordPress is famous for being very easy to install – 5 minutes is enough. If that’s so easy, no wonder so many people start their own website powered by WordPress. It is also known as the most easy-to-use CMS among the three. However, it doesn’t mean there’s no need to learn at all. It means that you can quickly get accustomed to using the backend and master the basics. Sure, becoming an advanced user requires time and efforts. WordPress also boasts the most available plugin and themes. This abundance attracts many users, taking into account that most of these plugins are free. These are the things WordPress is good at and which probably explain its popularity. Joomla! Joomla! is the type of CMS catering for different types of users – designers, developers and bloggers can employ it for building websites. While Joomla! possesses a bit steeper learning curve than that of WordPress, it also has multiple customisation opportunities and allows seamless integration of modules to extend the site with more features. It is a frequent choice for community websites, forums and websites with user donated content. Joomla! has robust design and branding features, which is why it is also used for company websites that require something exclusive as opposed to a number of freely distributed themes and design templates. Drupal The most common association connected with this CMS is that Drupal is designed for developers. The thing is, it features the steepest learning curve and is very difficult to use for a person with no previous experience and no coding skills. On the other hand, this complexity corresponds to the abundance of opportunities you get with this CMS – you can do virtually anything with your Drupal site, provided that you know how to use and configure it correctly. There’s no sense in selecting Drupal to run a small blog or a business-card website, it is the CMS of great possibilities. And this is the reason why it is not so extensively used. However, Drupal powers very complex sites like enterprise websites with different access levels and integrated advanced functionalities. In Conclusion In order to make the right choice, don’t go for popularity or exclusiveness. Consider the factors that matter most for your future website, carefully weigh your knowledge, your desire to learn more and the growth prospects. In case you’ve previously made your choice and would like to change your existing CMS software for something better suited to your demands, with CMS2CMS online migration service your switch will be as accurate and swift as possible with no expenses on your side. Register your account and you’ll see how easy CMS changes can be! For more details concerning automated CMS migration, visit www.cms2cms.com.

Facebook's Promoted Tool explained...

This month Facebook introduced a new promotional tool called Promoted Posts. This tool allows Facebook Fan Page owners with at least 400 fans (but no more than 100,000 fans) the option to expose their posted content to more of their fans. Why Facebook Promoted Posts? Typically, when page administrators post content (text, a link, photo, deal or video) to their Facebook timeline, the content only reaches a fraction of their page’s fans. On NewBedfordGuide.com’s Facebook page, our posted content typically reaches 20-30% of of our fans. With over 5,000 fans, we typically reach 1,000 – 1,500 of our 5,000 fans. This limited reach can be attributed to several reasons. First, not all of your fans are on Facebook every day and may not play catch up by scrolling through hours or days of past posts on their feed. Second, some believe that Facebook limits your content reach for various reasons. Regardless of the reason your content is not reaching fans, this new Facebook Promoted Post tool allows you to pay a price to “bump” your content to the top of your fans’ walls. Facebook launches Facebook Gifts for users to buy friends real gifts through mobile and desktop

Facebook today officially launches Facebook Gifts in a limited test for U.S. users to buy products for their friends through the social network’s desktop or mobile versions. Gifts seems to follow the format used by Karma, a mobile gift-giving service that Facebook acquired in May. As with Karma, users can send their friends gifts without knowing their address. After a user chooses a gift, the recipient is notified and he or she can indicate where the gift should be sent. The recipient also has the option to swap the gift for another of equal or lesser value. The difference between Facebook Gifts and Karma, which is still available as a standalone app for iOS, is that Facebook Gifts has a desktop component. Users can send gifts directly from birthday reminders or from friends’ timelines. They can post a preview of the gift on a friend’s timeline or send it privately.

Drupal Software

Drupal is free, open source software that can be used by individuals or groups of users -- even those lacking technical skills -- to easily create and manage many types of Web sites. The application includes a content management platform and a development framework.
Types of sites that Drupal can be used for include:
Drupal is written in the PHP programming language. The software is ready-to-use upon download and also includes a Web-based installer and add on modules. The software supports content management, collaborative authoring, newsletters, podcasts, image galleries, peer-to-peer networking, file uploads/downloads and more.
Drupal originated as a bulletin board system developed by Dries Buytaert in the Netherlands, and became an Open Source project in 2001. When establishing his original Drop.org Website, Buytaert wanted to call the site "dorp" ("village" in Dutch), but made a typo when checking the domain name, and decided the altered form sounded better (Drupal is a transliteration of the Dutch "druppel" which means droplet). Drupal has been downloaded over a million times and is the focus of a large development community.
Drupal is offered under a General Public License (GPL).

5 ways to like Facebook Pages...

5 Ways to Get More Facebook Likes

You have to be everywhere your customers are, including Facebook. Here are some easy ways to rack up those "likes."
It's time to shutter your Facebook shop
Flickr/GOIABA (Goiabarea)

If you don't already know by now, I'm a big believer that social media can help grow a business. But I often still get some pushback from people and customers who are hesitant to jump in.
Here are two of my favorite excuses.

"I'm afraid I'm going to overexpose my business to my customers. Won't that happen?"

Here's how I answer that:
  • If you communicate with your customers through email marketing, 20% to 30% of your email recipients will open your message--if you're lucky.
  • Probably only a few percent of your customers have liked your Facebook page.
  • If your "likers" have a lot of friends or are following a lot of Facebook pages, your message in their news feed may have passed them by.
My point? It's not overexposure. You have to be everywhere your customers are as much as you can!

"Getting people to 'like' me sounds pathetic."

In reality, it's not that much different from asking people to give you their email address or asking for their business card. And the more people that you've got exposed to your message where they want to see it, the better.
Why do you want more Facebook likes?
  • When someone likes your business, that action will show up in his or her news feed.
  • When you post something, it could show up in your liker's news feed (depending on how engaging your content is and how they have their feed set up).
  • It could show up in the ad to your liker's friends when you use Facebook ads.
How do you get more Facebook likes? Here are a few ideas:

1. Facebook Ads

It's pretty simple to walk through and doesn't cost much at all. Even better, you control how much you want to spend.

2. "Like-gate" With a Coupon

Send an email campaign offering a link to a killer coupon with a "like-gate." What's a like-gate? It's when the customers click on the link to the coupon and they're brought to a screen on Facebook that simply asks them to "like us" to get the coupon. (I recommend using VerticalResponse Social or Sprout Social for this.)

3. Like-gate With a Contest

Do the same as above, but with a contest for customers to win something they'll really value. (I recommend using North Social or Wildfire by Google for this.)

4. Email

Send an email message to your email list asking them to like your page.

5. Message Your Personal Facebook Friends

Send a Facebook message to your Facebook friends (within Facebook) asking them to like your page (be strategic, because you can only send one request).
Getting more likes for your Facebook page should just be a part of your overall social media marketing mix!

Sensor Technolgy that identifies Person's Veins.

Passwords for online banking, social networks and email could be replaced with the wave of a hand if prototype technology developed by Intel makes it to tablets and laptops.
Aiming to do away with the need to remember passwords for growing numbers of online services, Intel researchers have put together a tablet with new software and a biometric sensor that recognizes the unique patterns of veins on a person's palm.
"The problem with passwords -- we use too many of them, their rules are complex, and they differ for different websites," Sridhar Iyengar, director of security research at Intel Labs, said at the annual Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco on Thursday. "There is a way out of it, and biometrics is an option."
Iyengar demonstrated the technology, qu
ckly waving his hand in front of a tablet but not touching it. Once the tablet recognizes a user, it can securely communicate that person's identity to banks, social networks and other services where the person has accounts, he said.
Making laptops, tablets and smartphones responsible for identifying users would take that requirement away from individual websites and do away with the need to individually enter passwords into each of them, Iyengar said.
"We plan to work with service providers to take full advantage of this," he said.
A device using the technology would use built-in accelerometers to detect when a user puts it down, and would then log its owner off to keep unauthorized people from getting in.

Microsoft relaunches Hotmail as Outlook

Microsoft unveiled a revamped, Facebook-friendly version of its free, online email service on Tuesday in an attempt to reverse market share losses to Google’s fastgrowing Gmail.

The world’s largest software company is renaming its Hotmail service Outlook, giving it a sharp new look, social network links, and new features for handling the tide of junk and mass mail that swamps many users.

Hotmail was still the world’s largest online mail service as of June, with 324 million users, or about 36% of the global market. But it is losing customers to Google’s Gmail, the fastest-growing rival. Hotmail users will be prompted to switch over to the new service over the next few months.

What is Cloud Computing?

Cloud computing is the delivery of computing and storage capacity as a service  to a heterogeneous community of end-recipients. The name comes from the use of a cloud-shaped symbol as an abstraction for the complex infrastructure it contains in system diagrams[4]. Cloud computing entrusts services with a user's data, software and computation over a network.
There are three types of cloud computing:[5]
Using Infrastructure as a Service, users rent use of servers (as many as needed during the rental period) provided by one or more cloud providers. Using Platform as a Service, users rent use of servers and the system software to use in them. Using Software as a Service, users also rent application software and databases. The cloud providers manage the infrastructure and platforms on which the applications run.

End users access cloud-based applications through a web browser or a light-weight desktop or mobile app while the business software and user's data are stored on servers at a remote location. Proponents claim that cloud computing allows enterprises to get their applications up and running faster, with improved manageability and less maintenance, and enables IT to more rapidly adjust resources to meet fluctuating and unpredictable business demand.[6][7]
Cloud computing relies on sharing of resources to achieve coherence and economies of scale similar to a utility (like the electricity grid) over a network (typically the Internet).[8] At the foundation of cloud computing is the broader concept of converged infrastructure and shared services.[9]

A Mobile Website

Every business owner today is all too aware that a robust internet presence is right at the top of the list to reach as many people and potential customers as possible to attract new and repeat customers. But are you aware that you could be, quite possibly unintentionally, ignoring the needs of many potential customers because you are not catering for their specific needs. People use their mobile devices for internet access more and more so you must engage with them by having a mobile web site for your business. Need some convincing – then please read on and see why having a mobile site is an internet essential.

A mobile web site is just what you imagine it to be. A version of your normal site specifically designed and optimized for correct display on the smaller screen of an internet enabled mobile phone or other mobile device such as an ipad. Because a smaller screen is involved there are specific considerations needed to meet the needs of the mobile internet user.

Try viewing your main web site on your own mobile device. Notice how it does not display properly on the screen and how you have to scroll around, increase the view but can only see part of the screen, notice how hard it is to read the text, make contact or place an order. If you can't fix this for your visitors they may move on to one of your competitors and you have lost them. A mobile web site of your own can address that problem.

You cannot argue with numbers. It's a plain fact that mobile internet use is very much on the increase. People use their mobile phones, ipads and similar more and more for internet use. Indeed, some people do not use anything other than their mobile devices for internet use. So you have to move with the times and ensure your business is set up to satisfy the mobile internet user.

Without a mobile web site then the mobile user views your normal web site. This can be problematic for them not only for presentational reasons as we touched on earlier but also file size and graphics heavy sites can be an issue for mobile users who do not want to eat up their data transfer allowances waiting for photographs and images to load up. You mobile web site will be text based for ease and speed of loading on the mobile device screen thus using very little of the users data allowance.

Ease of navigation is another very important reason you need a mobile web site. Given the screen size issue the mobile device user visiting your normal site will have to scroll up and down to view it and a navigation system built for the traditional site will not be effective for the mobile visitor. Thus a correctly optimized mobile version will make it very quick and simple for the mobile user to navigate around.

So here we have looked briefly at some very important reasons for you, the business owner, to consider organizing a mobile web site to specifically serve the mobile market and reach out to them. Cater for their needs by giving them properly formatted mobile version and you enhance your prospects of gaining those visitors as customers. Can you afford not to?

iPhone VS Android (The Competition is still on).

The iPhone: The one and only
When people talk about features of the iPhone, they are referring to the iOS mobile platform. The speed of the software is great across the board and there has always been one iPhone even though we have several versions every year. One can just choose the storage that it boasts of: 16 GB to 64 GB.

The many looks of Android
Android is Google's mobile operating system and many smartphones run on this platform. Android owners refer to their smartphones as a "Droid" even though the carriers differ from one another. Android phones are found of all shapes and sizes.

The App Store vs. the Android Market
Now this is the most important part that constitutes both platforms: apps. Apps are cited as the primary reason why people opt for smartphones these days. Apple's App Store includes a huge list of downloadable games, tools and is the biggest market of apps in the world closely followed by Android. Apple is relatively strict in its choice of apps in the market and takes critical judgment of the apps that pass through its scanner. The App Store though is the king here.

Alternatively, Android emphasizes on "openness" and does not have a strict app approval process for its own app market. This is the main reason why malware cannot be fixed, but Android followers are happy about the approach.

The iPhone OS has been in the market for long now and hence boasts of good quality apps and more apps compared to Android market. But there are new apps being developed in both platforms and hence both iOS and Android have their own share of hits and misses.

iPhone vs. Android
A unique advantage with Android is its seamless integration with Google and its services. Everyone can benefit from Android's superior native Gmail app. Google Maps feature in Android include Google's Navigation, GPS navigation app for the car. On the whole, Android is a flexible OS which helps you to tweak some phone features if it bugs you. All simple settings can be controlled too. There are slick design and theme apps which can easily modify the look and feel of the smartphone.

But there is a huge issue of "fragmentation" with Android since there are multiple versions of Android available. The latest version of Android is 4.0 or Ice cream Sandwich but there are many new devices which are still running an old version of the OS. Additionally, phone manufacturers come up with their own "skins" which rests on top of the Android platform. These "skins" have their own look and own apps that cannot run on any other phone of any other manufacturer.  Only the Galaxy Nexus offers a vanilla Android experience and are always first updated before any other smartphone.

Now coming to the iPhone advantage, Apple has always been able to offer the best possible experience for its customers and hence seamless experience is guaranteed on all levels. With its latest Retina display technology, iPhone has the best pixel-rich display in a phone and presents a superb UI for web browsing and multimedia. Apple's FaceTime app makes video chatting seamless between Apple devices. Siri is the best phone assistant till date too.

The iPhone is less customizable which might be a huge turn-off for some users.  Also there are problems with its support for 4G capability. This is a huge minus in terms of speed when Android 4G phones are around.
