Habu
Habu is an audio-player that automatically sorts all the music on
your smartphone based on moods. After installation, the app uses
Gracenote – the world’s largest database of music information – to
analyze the songs on your device.
Your tracks are then graphically
sorted—ranging from ‘positive’ to ‘dark’ on the y-axis, and ‘calm’ to
‘energetic’ on the x-axis—in circles on a grid. Using these
categorizations, users can choose to play music that fits with how
they’re feeling at that point of time. Habu does a decent job of sorting
music, and is often spot on with its classification. Interestingly, you
can also use Habu to analyze your favourite music to learn about
yourself, whether you’re a happy, energetic person or the sombre and
melancholy sort.
