With a combination of keywords, titles, company name and location, you can use the Advanced Search on LinkedIn to discover the people you want to interact with. These are your prospects.
You’ll hear about some of the great benefits of LinkedIn and also some of its limitations.
One
of the most powerful search categories is Location. Not only can you
see who lives in your town, but also when you attend trade shows or
conferences, it’s a great way to connect with people before the event.
A really cool app that you can use for conferences is Bizzabo,
which has a LinkedIn API interface. There are thousands of events in
there and you can see who will be at the event. It shows you their
LinkedIn profile. In the show, you’ll also discover another app which
can be used for prospecting.
If you want to meet prospects face to face before an event, a cool new app called Trendr will set up a live meeting place.
Listen to the show to find out how you can discover if a prospect is active in a particular LinkedIn group.
Viveka’s experience on LinkedIn
Viveka is extremely active on LinkedIn,
either prospecting or inbound. She says that 70-80% of her business
comes through LinkedIn and the remainder through things that she markets on Twitter.
When you own a LinkedIn group, it allows you to position yourself as a thought leader.
Viveka owns quite a few groups. Make sure the content you share is
helpful and useful and not at all promotional. You need to ask questions
and respond to other group members’ discussions.
You’ll hear about Viveka’s most active group, and how it’s a support system for the LinkedIn chat on Twitter.

DROPBOX
Dropbox is a file hosting service operated by Dropbox, Inc., headquartered in San Francisco, California, that offers cloud storage, file synchronization, and client
software.
Dropbox allows users to create a special folder on each of their computers, which Dropbox then synchronizes so that it appears to be the same folder (with the same contents) regardless of which computer is used to view it. Files placed in this folder also are accessible through a website and mobile phone applications.
Syncing your files between all of your computers, smartphones, and tablets is what Dropbox is all about. All you have to do is install the Dropbox desktop application and sign in using the same login on all your devices.
If you've already installed Dropbox, simply adding files to your Dropbox folder will automatically sync the file to your Dropbox, which means you can open it from any other computer, smartphone, or tablet that also has Dropbox installed.
If you'd rather sync some files with other people on other Dropbox accounts, that's easy too; just create a shared folder instead.

How do I sync files between computers?

Install the Dropbox app
- Start by downloading Dropbox on each computer, smartphone, and tablet you want to sync with.
- When installing, you will be prompted to either sign in or create a new account. You only need one account no matter how many devices you want to keep in sync.
- Once Dropbox is installed, you'll notice a new Dropbox folder on your hard drive. Add files to your Dropbox folder, and Dropbox will automatically watch them and make sure they are in sync. You can now access your files through the Dropbox website.
- Once you have installed the application on each of your computers using the same Dropbox login, your files will appear in the Dropbox folders of those computers as well.
